South African Church rejects Blacks!
A church in South Africa named Afrikaanse Protestante Kerk Church situated in Oria had reportedly shut out two black journalists from attending a service on Sunday.
“The church is only for whites”, an official of the church had allegedly said
African Review reports that the journalists being on assignment thought they could partake in the Sunday’s service before jetting out to Pretoria. They were stopped by a church leader named Mr. Theunis Oukamp at the entrance. According to him, allowing black people into an all-white church is an infrigement on the “rights of Afrikaans people”
He maintained that he was kind of in a dilemma noting that Orania was only for white people. In his words “I am now in a difficult situation. You know that Orania is only for white people, this is why we are here. You must understand I know you want to serve God and everything but I have to protect the rights of Afrikaans people. So I cannot let you in, you guys can go to any other church, but this one is only for white people”
Many Christians in South Africa have voiced their displeasure at the incident. A particular man described the move as diabolical noting that the bible had said that “there is neither Greek nor Jew but we are one in Christ”
Orania is an Afrikaans-only South African town located along the banks of the Orange River, in the arid Karoo region of the Northern Cape Province.
