Canadian Nurse Jailed for Life for killing Eight People in her Care
A former Canadian Nurse, Elizabeth Wettlaufer has been jailed for life after she pleaded guilty to eight counts charges of first-degree murder, four counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault in what is termed a notorious serial killings.
Elizabeth, 50, told the court on Monday that she was truly sorry and hopes the families of her victims can find peace and healing. She was jailed without the possibility of parole for 25 years.
The incident took place at the three Ontario long-term care facilities where Elizabeth was working as a registered nurse and at a private home.
She confessed to having used insulin in all the cases from 20017 to 2016.
Justice Bruce Thomas said who gave the judgement said “”It is a complete betrayal of trust when a caregiver does not prolong life, but terminates it. She was the shadow of death that passed over them on the night shift where she supervised”
